SOCIAL MEDIA AND YOUR DIVORCE - BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PUT OUT THERE BECAUSE IT MAY COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU.

I have found in the last couple of years that Facebook, My Space, Twitter, LinkedIn and regular emails have come up in family law cases more and more. Be careful what you put out there because it may come back and haunt you. For regular email, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media don't write anything that you wouldn't want to see on the front page of the newspaper. Otherwise, you may find yourself in court listening to all the things you wrote. It can be very embarassing and may damage your case. In fact, if you are facing a contested divorce or other family law case you may want to close any social media accounts and erase what you put on there to protect yourself.
