Motorcycles can be one of the most enjoyable ways to enjoy the open road in Texas. Unfortunately, due to their relatively small size (and difficulty being seen by other drivers) and the lack of any restraint system for drivers and passengers, they can be deadly in an accident. The Texas Department of Transportation reports that for 2011 there were a total of 10,359 Texas motorcycle accidents that caused injury and/or death. Austin Texas motorcycle accidents are of particular concern due to the world famous Republic of Texas Motorcycle Rally which is the largest motorcycle rally in Texas, drawing more than 35,000 visitors each year to Austin and Travis County. So many bikers and cars in close proximity sometimes results in serious accidents and injuries.
