Goldman Settles Pregnancy Lawsuit
A lawsuit has been settled between Goldman Sachs and a former vice president who claimed she was terminated for choosing to "work part-time following her pregnancy." The suit stated the company violated the U.S. Family Medical Leave Act and discriminated against the woman because of her gender. The plaintiff said her opportunities for advancement within the company "disappeared" when she took maternity leave. The terms of the settlement remain confidential.  Bob Van Voris, Bloomberg  11/05/2010
