PARAMETERS:
The Lubbock Outer Rote (Loop 88) would upgrade and widen FM 1585 by converting the existing two lane roadway to a four lane divided freeway with frontage roads and ramps. Interchanges will be developed at cross streets. Additionally, interchanges and direct connectors will be constructed at U.S. 87 and U.S. 62/82.

This 35-mile Outer Route project would connect U.S. 84 on the northwest side of Lubbock to U.S. 84 near Slaton on the southeast side of Lubbock. Construction will be in four sections. For example, the first segment being what is now FM 1585 from U.S. 62/82 near Wolfforth to U.S. 87 in South Lubbock.
