The FM 1485 Project is a highway improvement and widening project being built by TxDOT or the Texas Department of Transportation in Montgomery County, Texas. I'm David Todd. I'm an eminent domain attorney in Austin, Texas. We are helping folks with this particular project and wanted to tell you a little bit more about it, how it may affect you. The FM 1485 Project has the following goals. They're going to widen 1485 from a two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway from State Highway 242 to Kidd Cemetery Road. They're going to raise the median of 242 to Caney Drive. They're going to create a continuous turn lane from Caney Drive to Kidd Cemetery Road and a 10-foot wide path on either side of the road for pedestrians and cyclists.
How does this affect you? Well, if your property is in that area, they may be taking part of your land. You may have received notice. You may be about to receive notice that they intend to acquire part of your property. The meeting about this was in July of 2020, the public meeting. The right of way acquisition is set to begin later in 2021 with construction slated to start the following year. This is coming up and if you are affected by this, or think you might be affected by this, please visit us at davidtoddlaw.com.
